Aviation Industry Targets 15 Percent Growth


Success with passenger growth up to around 17 percent in 2009 and then, the airline business sector targeted to grow by 15 percent this year.

Director General of Civil Aviation Ministry of Transportation Herry Bakti said Singayudha Gumay line with current economic growth. "Kalaui last year rising 17 percent, this year is expected to at least 15 percent. If the economic situation remains stable, the target can be achieved," Herry said in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/2/2010).

The increase in passengers, he said, will occur in addition to the improving economy also because this year the airline will add to the fleet.

He explained that if people's purchasing power increases, then the capacity also increases, then the ticket will harhga stable, leading to the increase of passengers.
In 2009 then, the number of airline passengers increased by 17 percent in the amount of 48.5 million passengers from 41.9 million in 2008.
