Indonesia's Foreign Exchange Reserves Position Close to 70 Billion dollars



Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves position close to 70 billion U.S. dollars or an increase compared to the position in December 2009 which reached 66.105 billion.
This was conveyed by Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said at a news conference at the Office of Financial Kemetrian, Jakarta, Thursday (11/2/2010).

"Our foreign exchange reserves reached 69.59 billion U.S. dollars and close to 70 billion U.S. dollars. This is the highest in the past some time. This morning the President's call was 65 billion dollars, but now it reached 69.59 billion U.S. dollars, "said the minister.

Finance Minister said, during the global economic crisis late in 2008, Indonesia could lose foreign exchange reserves reached 10 billion U.S. dollars. However, during the year 2009 and foreign reserves soared because of the improved flow of foreign capital into the domestic economy.

"When the crisis we lose 10 billion dollars in five months. However, we can now return, even more than the reserves for this. This is equivalent to 6 months of imports, was," he said.
